Sales & Marketing Manager: Construction

Our client is a respected South African manufacturer of precast concrete pipes, manholes and related infrastructure products, supplying the construction and civil engineering industries. With a long-standing reputation for quality, reliability and exceptional customer service, they have built strong relationships across the sector and continue to grow their footprint in the market.

They are now looking for a commercially minded Sales & Marketing Manager to lead their sales function, drive business development and strengthen their market presence. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll mentor the external sales team while remaining actively involved in developing new business, nurturing key accounts and identifying opportunities for sustainable growth.

Your focus will include:

• Leading and developing the external sales team.

• Driving new business and expanding existing customer relationships.

• Identifying new markets and commercial opportunities.

• Developing sales and marketing initiatives that support business growth.

• Working closely with internal teams to ensure exceptional customer service.

• Building relationships with contractors, developers, consulting engineers and other key stakeholders.

We’re looking for someone who has:

• At least 7 years’ sales experience within the construction, concrete, building materials or a related technical industry.

• Previous experience leading or mentoring a sales team.

• A proven track record in business development and account management.

• Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of pricing, margins and profitability.

• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.

• A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
